Rates and questions
The house is newly finished and newly listed. Until the calendar fills we're pricing well below comparable homes inside Hacienda Pinilla, and there's no minimum stay. Live rates for your dates are on the booking page.
Before you book
How many people does it really sleep?
Twelve in beds, across five bedrooms: three kings, one room with two queens, and one queen. Every bedroom has its own full bathroom, and there's a half bath off the common area. Fourteen is possible with an air mattress in the secondary master — ask us and we'll be honest about whether it'll feel crowded for your group.
Is the pool heated?
Yes. It matters more than people expect: in the dry season the mornings are cool enough that an unheated pool keeps children out until mid-morning.
Can we work from the house?
Comfortably. The house has a 1 Gbps fibre connection, the fastest tier available in Costa Rica, plus air conditioning in every room and good places to set up on the covered terrace. Guests regularly stay a month and work part of the week.
What does the beach club cost?
Five dollars per person at the Hacienda Pinilla beach club on Playa Avellanas. Access to the beach itself is free. Golf, the JW Marriott pool and some other facilities are charged separately by the operators.
Do we need a car?
Yes, in practice. There's no public transport, the community is spread out, and the beaches and restaurants you'll want are within a half-hour radius. Higher clearance is useful; four-wheel drive isn't essential for the main roads. Note that Costa Rica's mandatory liability insurance is charged at the rental counter and can't be waived or covered by a credit card.
Is there a golf cart?
Not with the house. Most guests use their rental car; carts can be hired locally if you'd rather potter around the community that way.
Is it good for small children?
It's built for them. A crib and high chair are here, the community is gated with very little traffic, and Playa Mansita at low tide is a calm lagoon with tide pools. The one real caution is the surf at Avellanas — rip currents on that stretch are serious, so pick your beach by the day.
Housekeeping, pets, minimum stay?
Housekeeping is available on request for a fee at whatever rhythm suits you. Pets aren't permitted. There's no minimum stay at the moment.
How far is the airport?
About ninety minutes from Liberia (LIR), roughly 75 km on paved road. San José is four and a half to five hours and not worth it unless the flights force your hand. Send us your flight details and we'll make sure arrival is smooth.
